Year 3/4 - Mrs L. Bailey
Welcome to Hawks class. My name is Mrs Bailey and I am the class teacher. Working alongside me in Merlins class is Miss Powles, Mrs Beddis and Miss Frowen.
For the Spring Term our topic is ‘The Great Outdoors’. We will visit Bristol Zoo and attend a smart plants workshop. Throughout the term we will be developing our geographical skills and knowledge (learning how to use a compass, grid references and OS maps). During this topic, we will visit the local area to conduct fieldwork.
In Science, we are looking at plants and animals. We will be investigating the conditions needed to grow plants and studying habitats. In Computing, we will be learning how to stay safe online with e-safety workshops and Safer Internet Day.
In the Spring Term, our P.E days will be Wednesday and Thursday. It is a good idea if children keep their P.E kits in school at all times as P.E lessons may change due to weather and school commitments.
Homework will be set at the start of the term and children can hand in their completed homework each week or at the end of the term. You can support us by listening to your child read regularly and helping them learn their times tables. Children will receive rewards for completed homework and if an adult signs their link book to let us know they have read at home. Children can become ‘Maths Champions’ and receive a special pencil when they know all the times tables for their year group: Y3; x2, x10, x5, x3, x4 and x8, Y4; all x tables up to 12 x 12.
We are all looking forward to learning new and interesting things this year
